Hong Yul is the child of the Azure Dragon. The power of children born to the Azure Dragon is the ability to wish to see the future. Although being a child of one of the Four Guardian Gods is typically seen as a gift, these children are faced with more severe costs when making their wishes. As a result, she loses her right leg and eyes in exchange for seeing the future.

Appearance[]

She has teal-colored hair, identical to Hong Ryun's. She usually wears long robes with a ribbon adorned on front. She also carries a crutch due to losing her right leg when making a wish as a child. Later on in the story she is seen wearing bandages around her eyes as she loses her eyes in exchange for allowing Irang to see the future.

Personality[]

She is benevolent, responsible, and selfless but as a child her father sacrificed half of her anima due to his gambling addiction. This half of her power was stored within a golden hourglass that was the prize for "winning" the gambling tournament at Animarena.

Being sheltered for the majority of her life has provided her a more altruistic outlook upon life, allowing her to be respected and revered by many. She also cares deeply for her cousin Hong Ryun and tries desperately to protect him due to seeing him die in the future. She is emotionally defeated when her attempts to save him fall short as she merely slows down his death rather than preventing it completely.

Plot[]

The first time she is formally introduced is when she visits Irang after his powers as the White Tiger are finally awakened. At this point, she plans on visiting the Black Tortoise in order to discuss their peace treaty and needs bodyguards for the visit. The principal then appoints five students to follow her to the Black Tortoise's city as her protectors. While at the city, they are ambushed by followers of the Black Tortoise who are intent upon starting a war that will start with her death. Fortunately, she is quickly rescued by the students and promptly returns to Mihol.

In order to stop the Black Tortoise, she teams up with Irang by giving him the hourglass that holds the other half of her anima. This gives him her ability to see into the future that acts hand in hand with his ability to change the past. However, in exchange for providing Irang the ability to see into the future, the Azure Dragon takes her eyes, causing her to go blind.

In the epilogue when life is restored to normal, she is seen being introduced to Yul-bi as Yul-bi and Hong Ryun have finally confessed their mutual feelings for one another. She smiles telling Yul-bi that she has heard a lot about her, inferring that she was aware of his feelings for her the entire time.
